the answers to [some] of your questions
Vos También was just a dream of 4 regular people in 2012. Artists, medical professionals, hard workers, Christians. We wanted to get involved in the fight to end human trafficking, and we served a few places before we realized: where were the organizations fighting for Argentina? We couldn't find any. So we took a trip to Buenos Aires in 2013.
Working in anti-trafficking is tough, and in Argentina, it's really tough. Very few well-meaning individuals and organizations stick around here. Is it the economy? Is it the cartels? Is it the culture? While "experts" debate the reasons, we are on the ground. We are creating a national network of unity, because in an environment where human trafficking flourishes, unity is key to fighting it effectively. We are very few, but we know that God wants to be a part of the anti-trafficking movement here in Argentina- and if He's with us, who can be against us?
The dream became a reality in 2018 when we opened the first faith-based aftercare center for survivors of human trafficking in Argentina. Since then, we've turned it over to locals to become a thriving anti-abuse center and purchased our own property. Currently, we are renovating it and plan to open it up soon as another center for survivors of human trafficking and exploitation. In the meantime, we work with other organizations, ministries, and individuals who are committed to seeing an end to the cycle of exploitation here in Argentina. On any given day, we could be feeding underserved populations, digging utility lines, counseling a trafficking survivor, building legos with her children, meeting with government officials, or picking up a mission team from the airport.
We are constantly learning and adapting to culture, trauma-based research, and the needs around us. There are a few things, however, that we won't compromise. Our faith in Christ, our belief that human trafficking CAN end, and that everyone can be involved in the fight against it. That's why our name means "you too"!
